"Two years after suffering All-Ireland final heartbreak against Glen, St Brigid's will return to Croke Park in a fortnight hoping for atone for the devastation of 2024. The Roscommon champions survived a ferocious semi-final scrap with Scotstown to win by four points. It was deserved, just about, but the Monaghan kingpins will rue a succession of squandered second half goal chances that could have turned this result on its head."
"Their first double goal chance came shortly before Hand's orange flag; Shane Carey was initially denied by Conor O'Carroll before Darren Hughes saw his rebound blocked on the line by Ruaidhrí Fallon. Then, in the closing stages, full-back Seán Trundle completed a stunning block to deny Jack McCarron after he had rounded O'Carroll. Into injury-time, now five adrift, Scotstown's last chance came and went when Micheál McCarville blasted over when he really should have hit the jackpot."
St Brigid's beat Scotstown 1-16 to 1-12 to reach the All-Ireland Club SFC final at Croke Park. The Roscommon champions led 1-10 to 1-6 at half-time, and Conor Hand opened the second half with a two-pointer. Scotstown created several clear goal opportunities but failed to convert them. Shane Carey was denied by Conor O'Carroll and Darren Hughes had a rebound blocked on the line by Ruaidhrí Fallon. Full-back Seán Trundle made a crucial late block to deny Jack McCarron, and Micheál McCarville missed an injury-time chance. St Brigid's will face Dingle in the final.
