Meghan Trainor and husband Daryl Sabara welcomed daughter Mikey Moon Trainor through a surrogate. The couple shared photos of themselves with their sons Riley and Barry holding the newborn, and Riley and Barry helped choose the baby’s middle name. The couple thanked doctors, nurses and medical teams and noted that extensive conversations with doctors led them to choose surrogacy as the safest way to grow their family. The announcement prompted renewed public debate about surrogacy ethics. Trainor described the surrogate as selfless, strong, and loving and characterized surrogacy as a valid, science- and care-based way to build a family.
