""testimony to the legacy of this powerhouse of good who swept into so many lives""
""We know how much of that she achieved in her life, it is well documented. But none of us will ever know the countless individuals whom she quietly helped, supported, encouraged, advised and championed.""
""After all those years looking out for others, this old heart has finally learned to look after itself, each act of kindness a stitch in the warm blanket that now covers you.""
Sister Stan's charity and social justice organisations will endure as a testimony to her legacy. The funeral mass combined real loss and grief with the hope that burned in Sister Stan's heart. Ireland has been blessed by women who heard the gospel as Good News to the poor, and Sister Stan followed in their footsteps. Sister Stan planned much of her funeral and had very definite ideas about celebrating her passing. Her purpose was to provide the best care for those who are needy, sick, destitute, and heart-sore, and much of that work was well documented. Countless individuals received quiet help, support, encouragement, advice, and advocacy. She was described as formidable, holding high standards, stubbornness, determination, and a dislike of the word "no." Family tribute recalled years of caring and a niece pictured acts of kindness as stitches in a warm blanket.
