Remains of 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., a 27-year-old U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery officer, were recovered in the Atlantic Ocean near the shoreline in Morocco. He and another U.S. soldier went missing around 9 p.m. near the Cap Draa Training Area outside Tan-Tan during a recreational hike while off duty. The disappearance occurred after participation in African Lion, an annual multinational military exercise in Morocco. Search efforts continued for the second missing soldier, with a U.S. contingent remaining in Morocco after the war games ended.
