Miami owner 'fully expects' MLS calendar shift
Briefly

Jorge Mas, co-owner of Inter Miami, anticipates Major League Soccer (MLS) will align with the international soccer calendar after upcoming discussions. Presently, MLS operates from February to November, creating challenges in the transfer market as its windows conflict with major European leagues. Mas believes a switch to a fall/spring schedule by 2027 will allow MLS to engage more effectively in transfers, both incoming and outgoing. He also emphasized the importance of roster flexibility, hinting that increased spending could follow if league revenues continue to rise, benefiting all teams.
In the summer meeting, I expect we will decide to move a path forward to align with the FIFA calendar... it brings our league to a significant level of disadvantage.
If we're able to do that, I think we will have the advantages of being able to participate much more aggressively in the transfer windows.
The second step has to do with roster flexibility and the ability to expand rosters... I'd like to see the ability to spend more money.
