Marlins promote the prized prospect from the Chisholm trade with the Yankees
Briefly

Agustin Ramirez, acquired in a trade with the Yankees, is making his MLB debut for the Marlins due to injuries to Rob Brantly and Nick Fortes. The 23-year-old catcher has been a strong offensive player in the minors. After focusing on improving his defensive skills during spring training, Ramirez is now the starting catcher, along with rookie Liam Hicks. He has shown offensive promise but needs to further develop his defensive game against base stealers.
Catching is a tough position, especially for a young catcher, and I think the times that he's been back there, he's handled himself well.
The Marlins wanted him to focus on his defense, and how he calls games, during spring training and during his first few weeks in Triple A.
