Miami Heat Trade Grades: Norman Powell acquired from Clippers
Briefly

The Miami Heat made a notable offseason trade by acquiring Norman Powell in a three-team deal involving the Clippers and Jazz. The Clippers gained John Collins, enhancing their frontcourt versatility and athleticism, despite concerns over spacing after losing Powell. The Jazz received Kyle Anderson, Kevin Love, and a future pick, with criticism regarding the perceived value of Collins. The Heat's move for Powell is viewed positively, given his potential impact as a top shooter while Anderson and Love were unlikely to contribute significantly to the rotation.
The Clippers have loaded up in the frontcourt, adding Brook Lopez, Yanic Konan Niederhauser and Collins this offseason. Collins averaged 19.0 points and 8.2 rebounds last season on 52.7 percent shooting.
Losing Powell could hurt the Clippers' spacing more than we may think. Collins will have to continue his reliable 3-point shooting and rim-running.
I'm not sure what the Jazz were thinking. Collins is worth more than Kevin Love, who's entering his age-37 season, and Kyle Anderson.
The Heat got Powell for next-to-nothing; Anderson and Love were not projected to be in the top-8 of their rotation this season.
