"Can there be a "right deal" including Herro that doesn't involve Giannis? I'm hard-pressed to think of someone currently on the trade block who would make the Heat better if he replaced Tyler Herro on this roster. Trades are great and fun, but trading a longtime member of the team who's improved substantially during his tenure shouldn't be done unless a package including him can fetch a real, legitimate superstar."
"My read is that the Heat can't ever be a real contender to land Antetokounmpo if they're not willing to part with Ware this go-around. Sources insist, however, that Miami is indeed willing to part with Andrew Wiggins (and his $28.2 million salary) in the proverbial right deal. The fact that the Heat did not come to a contract extension agreement with Tyler Herro, furthermore, would also appear to make his $31 million deal movable (we repeat) in the proverbial right deal."
"It sounds like the Heat are extremely hesitant to include Kel'el Ware in any potential deal. That's good! Ware's future is dangerous levels of UV bright. They should be equally hesitant to trade Herro - in fact, I think the only time either of those guys should be traded is together, in a package for Giannis."
Miami could be persuaded to trade Tyler Herro, with his $31 million salary and lack of an extension making him movable in the right deal. The Heat appear willing to include Andrew Wiggins and his $28.2 million salary in trade discussions. Kel'el Ware is extremely unlikely to be part of most deals due to his high upside. Herro made his first All-Star appearance and, despite battling injuries in 2025-26, has been excellent when available. Trading Herro should only occur if the return delivers a legitimate superstar who clearly improves the roster. A preferred package to land Giannis would include Herro, Ware, and multiple draft picks.
