Buying low on DeMar DeRozan may make sense now more than ever
Briefly

The Miami Heat have strengthened their team by trading for Norman Powell, justifying further roster improvements before the offseason concludes. Initially focused on a youth movement with players like Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, the Heat's recent win-now strategy raises the possibility of additional acquisitions. DeMar DeRozan remains a potential target, with rumors suggesting he may be on the move from Sacramento. DeRozan, despite being an aging veteran, continues to demonstrate strong offensive skills and reliability, making him an appealing addition to the Heat's competitive lineup.
"The Kings are expected to gauge the market for DeRozan this summer, sources said...For years, the Miami Heat have been labeled as a prime destination for DeRozan, and he will once again be viewed as a plausible target for Pat Riley's team."
Regardless of DeRozan being another aging star, he has become a bit of an underrated talent over the last couple of seasons. He is still capable of being a game changer offensively and in the clutch.
DeMar DeRozan averaged 22.2 points, 4.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds on 48% shooting in the 2024-25 campaign.
If that's the case, another cheaper upgrade could still be on the table to arise mid-summer.
