The Heat's starters were listed as Dru Smith, Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo and Kel'el Ware. Atlanta signed Lamont Butler, Deivon Smith and M.J. Walker ahead of the game. Butler posted career highs at Kentucky in 2024-25 and previously played four seasons at San Diego State, earning Mountain West defensive honors and ranking among the program leaders in steals and assists. Smith played in Summer League and averaged 9.3 points at St. John's in 2024-25.
