This Black-owned Company Just Launched an Afro-inspired Tour in Latin America
Briefly

Kim Haas's passion for travel ignited at six, leading her to create "Afro-Latino Travels With Kim Haas" on PBS. Her company now offers group travel experiences, enabling firsthand engagement with Afro-descendant cultures. After debuting a successful tour in Costa Rica that featured local Afro-Costa Ricans, Haas plans to launch a journey through Colombia in July 2025, immersing travelers in Afro-Colombian history and culture, visiting sites like Cali and Cartagena, and connecting participants with the local communities.
From that moment on, I was hooked on Spanish, travel, language, and culture.
I wanted to give people firsthand opportunities to experience Afro-descendant culture-to connect with communities, hear their stories, and witness their resilience and creativity.
Haas customized a tour for this group, combining opportunities to meet with Afro-Costa Ricans featured in the series.
The tour begins in Cali, the salsa capital of the world, where travelers will visit several historical and cultural sights.
