Community members gathered outside, expressing worry that the operation was linked to immigration enforcement, while others, like mechanic Alex Pierre, were shocked to learn the arrests were tied to drug activity, illustrating a disconnect between the barbershop's perceived and actual activities.
"We were just trying to learn, I'm not scared. We just want to know what is going on," said one woman.
"I thought that was a barbershop only in there, they do that, wow. I had no idea," said Alex Pierre, a local mechanic.
