Briefly

Four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel, ranked as ESPN's No. 4 pocket passer in the 2026 class, has committed to Michigan. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 210 pounds, Smigiel is the No. 45 overall recruit and joins Michigan’s 2026 class as its highest-ranked player. He cited the impressive strength program and coaching staff as key factors in his decision, as well as his relationship with offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey. The Wolverines hope to build on his commitment alongside other notable prospects in their recruiting efforts.
We just thought it was time to make the decision and when I went out to Michigan I knew it was the spot for me.
Being able to see the strength staff and how they handle the players -- the discipline within the program -- it was all really impressive.
Smigiel's decision was influenced by his connection with offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, who also recruited him while at North Carolina.
With Smigiel's commitment, Michigan's 2026 recruiting class now includes two ESPN 300 prospects.
