Miami Dolphins veteran tight end Darren Waller began training camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list. Although in good physical condition, the coaching staff hesitated to involve him in full practices after missing the 2024 season. With the intensity of practice increasing and a joint session with the Bears approaching, the team is cautious about his return. Waller continues to work out on the sidelines while his agent predicts he will be prepared for the season. Injuries affect other players as well, including fullback Alec Ingold and center Andrew Meyer.
"It's a little tricky because you're bringing a guy back, and is his first practice a joint practice?... We'll feel our way through that, and you're just trying to be smart with that."
"Waller has been seen working out on the side of drills in camp. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said on his weekly appearance on WSVN Waller should be ready for the start of the season."
