"The Marlins are going to send right-hander Zach Brzykcy outright to Triple-A Jacksonville, reports Christina De Nicola of MLB.com."
"That indicates the Fish put him on waivers in recent days and he went unclaimed."
"He will stay in the system as non-roster depth. Miami's 40-man roster count will drop to 39, perhaps allowing them to make a pick in next week's Rule 5 draft."
The Miami Marlins will send right-hander Zach Brzykcy outright to Triple-A Jacksonville. Brzykcy was placed on waivers and went unclaimed, allowing the club to retain him as organizational non-roster depth. Remaining in the system without a 40-man roster spot will keep Brzykcy available for minor-league assignments and depth usage. Miami's 40-man roster count will fall to 39 as a result of the outright move. The reduced roster total could permit the club to select a player in next week's Rule 5 draft. Additional roster moves and details are possible as the organization finalizes decisions.
