The person received a terminal illness diagnosis today. They live alone with no family or friends and have no car. They relied on TriMet and made eight separate trips but missed every connection. Temperatures reached 102°F, leaving them stranded outside for 30 minutes multiple times while feeling too weak to move or speak. They feared passing out and dying during the waits and had to briefly consider a cooling center. Their life-saving medication is at home and they are praying to make it back despite the intense heat.
I feel your pain. Today I found out I have a terminal illness. I have no family, no friends and I live alone. I also have no car so had to take TriMet for 8 different trips. It's 102°F outside. Not only am I ill and can barely move or speak, but I missed every bus single connection. Stranded outside for 30 minutes at a time, I wonder if this is going to be it. If this is when I pass out and die.
