"The Sunnyvale School District's preschool programs at Lakewood and San Miguel elementary schools have received a Tier 5 rating, the highest possible, from California's Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). The QRIS framework evaluates early childhood education programs across areas including child development and school readiness, teacher-child interactions, staff qualifications and family engagement. "We are proud to offer warm, engaging, and enriching preschool environments that lay the foundation for future success in school and life," said Superintendent Gudiel R. Crosthwaite in a release. The district currently offers free half-day preschool programs, with both morning and afternoon sessions available Monday-Friday, aligned with the district's academic calendar."
