"It got to the point where people I f------ loved (started to leave me),"
"My mom's the most supportive person in the world."
"And it got to a point where she called me when I was in rehab and she was like, 'My biggest fear is that I will turn on the news and I'll see that my son has died,'"
"That killed me," Davidson said. "So I was like, 'Alright, can't die until she's dead.'"
Pete Davidson reached a low point about a year and a half ago and realized he needed to want to be okay for himself. His drug use and worsening behavior led people close to him to distance themselves. His mother's direct expression of fear about seeing his death on the news while he was in rehab prompted him to change. He entered rehab in 2023 after crashing his car into a home. He has been open about borderline personality disorder and links some struggles to his father's death on Sept. 11, 2001. He continues therapy with supportive people in his life.
