Robert Zhou, new to New York City, found solace at Elements House, a clubhouse for people with serious mental illnesses. Funded by the city health department, this and other similar clubhouses aim to combat social isolation and enhance health outcomes. Member-run clubhouses provide opportunities for job assistance, social interaction, and support, improving the quality of life and decreasing reliance on psychiatric services. Zhou's experience illustrates the importance of community support in navigating challenges related to mental health.
