Katherine Short, 42-year-old adopted daughter of comedian Martin Short and late wife Nancy Dolman, died by suicide on February 23 at her Hollywood Hills home. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the call, and officials confirmed the cause of death. Katherine worked as a social worker at a psychiatry-led outpatient clinic, providing peer support and psychotherapy. She was also involved with Bring Change 2 Mind, a nonprofit organization promoting mental health dialogue. The Short family released a statement expressing profound grief and requesting privacy. Katherine's father Martin Short has postponed several live comedy shows with Steve Martin following the tragedy.
