Three-year-old Bridger of Strasburg, Colorado, saved his great-grandmother after she fell and sustained a head injury while babysitting him. Bridger witnessed her fall and bravely fetched her phone from a nearby car at her request, despite being scared. His great-grandmother, 77-year-old Sharon Lewis, praised him as a hero after calling 911 for assistance. The incident was captured on security video, showing Bridger psyching himself up before overcoming his fear. Lewis sustained a concussion and received medical treatment, emphasizing the bond between her and her courageous great-grandson.
"I asked Bridger to go to the car where I left my phone. He was brave. I knew he could do it, but I was worried because it was a big job."
"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid," Bridger told himself in the video, while racing to Lewis' car in the dark, icy night. "I was too scared."
"I never lost consciousness and I knew I was bleeding. I tried to wipe the blood out of my eyes. Bridger was standing there and asked, 'Are you OK? There's a lot of blood.'"
"She tripped and she was bleeding. And then it popped open," says Bridger, referring to the skin on her head.
