""Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts,""
""he could keep me alive for a year, maybe.""
""As I spent more and more of my life under the care of doctors, nurses, and researchers striving to improve the lives of others, I watched as Bobby cut nearly a half billion dollars for research into mRNA vaccines, technology that could be used against certain cancers,""
Tatiana Schlossberg, 35, died after a prolonged fight with acute myeloid leukemia diagnosed in May 2024 after the birth of her second child when a high white blood cell count prompted testing. The leukemia involved a rare mutation more commonly seen in older patients. She received rounds of chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, and participated in clinical trials, with a clinician estimating experimental treatment might extend life by about a year. She criticized policy changes that reduced mRNA vaccine research funding and warned such cuts could harm cancer patients. She worked as an environmental and climate journalist for The New York Times.
