Robert Murphy, MD, was awarded the 2026 Consortium of Universities for Global Health Distinguished Leadership in Global Health Award for his significant impact in the field. His career began in 1993 with the U.S. Peace Corps, focusing on HIV among volunteers in Africa. Murphy's research includes drug development for HIV and viral hepatitis, and he has worked extensively in sub-Saharan Africa. He expressed gratitude for collaborations with various organizations and pride in his mentees naming their children after him.
