Louth man shares his MS journey ahead of World MS Day
A man from County Louth living with multiple sclerosis shared his experience ahead of World MS Day 2026. World MS Day is observed globally on May 30 to raise awareness and connect people across the MS community. He described life with MS as sometimes meaning uncertainty and said he tries to live positively and pursue goals despite the diagnosis. He emphasized that local MS community support was crucial early on, helping him understand what MS is and how to manage it daily. He encouraged newly diagnosed people not to panic, noting that resources and a supportive community are available. He also pointed to the challenge of overwhelming information online and said he found clarity through his MS branch and consultant regarding medication and exercise.
"“MS can sometimes mean uncertainty.” Since receiving his diagnosis, he said he has tried to focus on living positively and making the most of life. “I am more positive about what I want out of life and would like to achieve. I want to live a fulfilling life in spite of my diagnosis,” he said."
