I Restored My Foreskin in My 60s. Now I Teach Other Men How They Can Do It Too.
"The 70-year-old former software engineer has successfully restored most of his foreskin, a process he started in his 60s. In this edition of the Secret Lives of Men, he tells the story of why he returned his penis to its natural state and how he became a moderator of a foreskin-restoration subreddit, where he teaches others how to tug their missing foreskins back into existence."
"I was born in 1955 in a Navy hospital in Corona, California. It's entirely possible, or even likely, that my circumcision wasn't even a matter of discussion between my parents and the doctor. I remember that when I was a teenager and got my first erection, I looked down and wondered, Is the skin supposed to be that tight? But I never talked about it to anyone."
"When I was 63 years old, I came across an article about foreskin restoration. The author interviewed Wayne Griffiths, cofounder of an organization from the 1980s called the National Organization of Restoring Men. I had never thought about the pros and cons of circumcision or had any idea that anything could be done about it, but it kind of clicked. So, I decided, why don't I give this a try?"
Bob, a 70-year-old retired software engineer, was circumcised at birth and later became aware of the resulting tightness. At age 63 he learned about foreskin restoration and built a homemade stretching device to apply tension, prompting cellular division and new collagen growth similar to medical tissue expansion. He gradually restored most of his foreskin and now moderates a foreskin-restoration subreddit where he teaches others how to tug missing foreskins back into existence. He initially concealed the project from his wife out of concern for her reaction; when he told her, she was amused rather than upset. He learned techniques from earlier organizations.
