The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued an urgent recall for Viessmann Vitorondens 200-T / 222-F Oil Condensing Boilers with Vitoflame 300 Oil Blue Flame Burners. Testing revealed that certain 2021-2023 models may experience late ignition, causing pressure damage and potential carbon monoxide leaks. This poses a high asphyxiation risk by exposing building occupants to unsafe exhaust gases. Viessmann has notified affected end users and warned installers. Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, making detection impossible without alarms. Symptoms of poisoning include headaches, dizziness, nausea, weakness, tiredness, confusion, chest pain, and muscle pain. Installing carbon monoxide alarms with loud alerts can help reduce poisoning risks.
