Sinclair, the largest ABC affiliate, said ABC's suspension "was not enough" and will keep the show off its stations until formal discussions occur about professionalism and accountability. Sinclair demanded a direct apology to Kirk's family and a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA. Nexstar also said it would preempt the show for the foreseeable future. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr criticized Kimmel and suggested potential agency involvement. Charlie Kirk died this month after being shot at an event at Utah Valley University. Affiliates are separate companies that distribute national network programming alongside local content.
