Cuddihy is moving from Newstalk to RTÉ to take the Liveline role, and staff were informed of his departure. RTÉ is implementing a Radio 1 schedule overhaul: Today with David McCullagh will start at 9am instead of 10am. Oliver Callan will shift to an extended 11am–1pm slot. Louise Duffy moves to mid-afternoon, while Katie Hannon and Colm Ó Mongáin will host Drivetime from 4pm to 6pm. A daily sports show will follow at 6pm. Claire Byrne’s Newstalk programme will now directly compete with McCullagh and Callan in the morning and late morning slots. Patricia Monahan endorsed Cuddihy for the role.
