There will also be a new daily sports show from 6pm, an RTÉ spokesperson said this morning."
"An email sent by senior management at Newstalk announced Mr Cuddihy's departure last night. Cuddihy is expected to also step down from the Tonight Show on Virgin Media. It was announced yesterday that Ray D'Arcy is departing his afternoon show. That comes in the wake of Claire Byrne announcing her departure and Duffy stepping away from Liveline after 27 years."
Cuddihy is set to move from Newstalk to RTÉ to take over the Liveline slot. RTÉ confirmed the appointment and announced a reshuffle of Radio 1 programme times. Today with David McCullagh will start at 9am, Oliver Callan will expand to 11am–1pm, and Drivetime will run 4pm–6pm with Katie Hannon and Colm Ó Mongáin. A new daily sports show will air from 6pm. Newstalk staff were informed by senior management, and Cuddihy is expected to leave other presenting roles. The changes follow several recent presenter departures and internal recruitment decisions.
