Many recordings are difficult to locate because they are stored in tape vaults, archives, and library collections that are not easily searchable. The American Archive of Public Broadcasting aims to make historic public media more searchable and accessible by using AI-generated transcripts as a starting point. FixIt+ is a volunteer, open-source platform maintained by GBH in collaboration with the Library of Congress. Volunteers review and refine machine-generated transcripts from older radio and television programs, helping correct errors and improve transcript quality for public use.
