Tanya Simon, appointed executive producer after Bill Owens resigned, was also fired. Nick Bilton was named to replace Simon, despite lacking traditional broadcast news experience. Weiss praised Bilton as an entrepreneurial journalist and leader for an entrepreneurial news brand.
