Google released Google Ads API version 24.1 as a minor update with dozens of changes. The update adds a mobile device platform segment feature and introduces classic images support in DemandGen via the classic_display_images field for DemandGenMultiAssetAd. It adds passkey support by introducing the read-only CustomerUserAccess.passkey_enabled field. Experiments support is expanded with new ExperimentTypeEnum types including ADOPT_AI_MAX, ADOPT_BROAD_MATCH_KEYWORDS, OPTIMIZE_ASSETS, and PMAX_REPLACEMENT_SHOPPING, along with configuration support for existing YouTube custom experiments. The release also includes support for the new data retention policy. Google previously released earlier versions throughout 2025 and 2024, and AdWords API was sunset to stop working at the end of July.
