Frank Illet began a challenge in October 2024 to not cut his hair until Manchester United achieved five consecutive wins. The run reached four after United's 2-0 victory over Tottenham, leaving a win over West Ham as the final condition for the haircut. Illet is known on Instagram as "theunitedstrand" and his profile grew to just under one million followers during the challenge. Regular update videos document his hair lengthening to shoulder level and his upbeat mood. The challenge started while Erik ten Hag was manager and coincided with Michael Carrick taking interim charge.
