Rotherham United has appointed Matt Hamshaw as their permanent manager with a three-year deal following a successful caretaker tenure that saw him secure three wins out of four matches. Hamshaw, previously a coach under Paul Warne, led the team to victories against Northampton, Blackpool, and Bolton. Despite a recent defeat to Stockport, his performance has impressed management. Club chairman Tony Stewart highlighted Hamshaw's coaching talent and character, suggesting he embodies the club's values and has significant leadership potential similar to his predecessor.
Not only is Matt an incredibly talented coach, he is also an individual who we feel embodies what the club stands for both on and off the pitch.
It was clear to us from a very early stage in his tenure that Matt was the individual that we wanted to take us forward.
