Manchester United implemented a cost-cutting programme after INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival, leading to lower operating expenses and a smaller net loss. Net loss fell from £113 million to £33 million for the 2024-25 season while operating expenses declined by £35 million. The club posted record revenues of £666.5 million driven by strong commercial and matchday retail performance despite poor on-field results. The wage bill was £313.2 million, about £52 million lower than the previous season. As at 30 June 2025 the club still owed £537.3 million. Omar Berrada emphasized commercial resilience and potential for improved financial performance to support on-pitch success.
