Man Utd will give Amorim three years, Ratcliffe promises - Soccer News
"Ruben needs to demonstrate he is a great coach over three years,"
"That is where I would be. Three years. Because football is not overnight. You also look at Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. He had a miserable time over the first couple of years. You can't run a club like Manchester United on knee-jerk reactions to some journalist who goes off on one every week."
"no faith"
Ruben Amorim was appointed by INEOS chairman Jim Ratcliffe after Ratcliffe gained control of football operations. Amorim's first season produced a club-record low 15th-place Premier League finish and a Europa League final loss to Tottenham. The current campaign has included a 2-0 win over Sunderland but an overall 10th-place league position and an EFL Cup exit to fourth-tier Grimsby Town. Amorim has 19 wins from 50 matches and a 29% win rate, the worst in United's Premier League history. Since his appointment last November United have won 37 top-flight points, ranking 14th among ever-present teams. Ratcliffe insists on a three-year period for Amorim to demonstrate his quality.
