Louis van Gaal, former manager of Manchester United and Ajax, is no longer bothered by cancer and his health is improving significantly. He underwent several operations two years ago, with recent check-ups indicating positive progress. Van Gaal has not taken a coaching role since the 2022 World Cup but is open to returning to a national team post. Although he is currently a special advisor at Ajax, he expressed no interest in club management, instead hoping to coach a top-tier national team.
"Two years ago, I had a few operations. It was all bad then. But it all worked out in the end. I have check-ups every few months, and that's going well. I'm getting fitter and fitter."
Louis van Gaal has stated he is "no longer bothered by cancer" and is keen for a return to higher levels of the game.
The former Dutch national team coach has not worked since the last World Cup in Qatar in 2022, expressing a lack of interest in club management.
While serving as a special advisor to Ajax, Van Gaal mentioned that the national coach position of a top-tier country could lure him back to coaching.
