Jesse Lingard has mutually agreed to terminate his contract with FC Seoul and will depart next week. He joined FC Seoul in February 2024 on a free transfer and made 66 appearances, scoring 18 goals. His final match will be against Melbourne City in the AFC Champions League. Strong local support accompanied his time in South Korea and he helped FC Seoul to a fourth-place finish in his debut season, their highest since 2019, and to sixth in 2025. Lingard made 232 appearances for Manchester United before leaving after a 20-year association. He did not win silverware with FC Seoul but recovered from early injury and criticism to become captain and a symbolic figure across the K League.
