"Sources close to Lingard reveal Corinthians are now one of the leading contenders for his signature and should a move materialise, the Englishman would link up with former Manchester United teammate Memphis Depay at the Arena Corinthians. "The 33-year-old boasts 232 Manchester United appearances as well as 182 outings in the Premier League, while he has also scored six goals in 32 caps for his country. Lingard will hope to recreate his impressive goal contribution numbers in South Korea at his next club."
"Lingard received proposals from the MLS and Spain, but he could be set to move to Brazil instead. The 33-year-old also held talks with Remo, who recently secured promotion to the Brazilian top flight for the first time in 31 years."
Jesse Lingard, the 33-year-old former Manchester United and West Ham winger, is negotiating with Brazilian club Corinthians as a free agent. The English player received offers from MLS and Spanish clubs, as well as from Remo, but Corinthians has emerged as a leading contender for his signature. Should the move materialize, Lingard would reunite with former Manchester United teammate Memphis Depay. Lingard has been without a club since departing South Korean side FC Seoul in December, where he scored 19 goals in 67 appearances over nearly two years. He previously considered returning to England with Championship clubs Middlesbrough and Coventry City but appears set for an international move instead.
