Antony completed a permanent move to Real Betis for €22m, potentially rising to €25m, after spending the second half of the previous season on loan at Betis. The winger had been excluded from Manchester United's US pre-season tour and trained separately at Carrington as part of the so-called "bomb squad." He scored nine goals in 26 games on loan and helped Betis reach the Conference League final. Antony joined United from Ajax for £81.3m in 2022 but managed only 12 goals in 96 appearances. He described emotional final days at United and praised the affection from Betis fans.
