Manchester United lost 3-0 at Manchester City after conceding three avoidable goals. Phil Foden opened the scoring with a header following Jeremy Doku's run past Luke Shaw. Doku supplied Erling Haaland's first goal by exploiting space left by United's defence, and Haaland's second came as a breakaway finish after suspect defending. The defeat leaves United with four points from four games. Captain Bruno Fernandes said the goals should have been avoided and stressed the need for better control, fewer concessions and more scoring. Noussair Mazraoui described the performance as unacceptable and said he will analyse the match to improve.
