Real Betis executive Ramon Alarcon revealed that Antony wishes to remain with the club after his current loan from Manchester United expires. The player, who has performed well with three goals and two assists in just seven games, feels comfortable and has been positively impressed by the facilities in Betis. However, since there is no option for a permanent transfer, Betis would need to negotiate with Manchester United again, as Antony's contract with the Premier League club runs until 2027.
"The other day Antony told me that he wanted to stay another year," Alarcon told Canal Sur. "The player is very comfortable here and was surprised by the facilities we gave him to settle in the city as soon as he arrived."
Antony has enjoyed a hot start in Betis, racking up three goals and two assists in seven games to date. United boss Ruben Amorim has admitted the difference in physicality between La Liga and the Premier League will have helped the 25-year-old settle.
A summer departure from United remains on the cards, although Antony's agent has insisted the door has not yet been firmly closed by those in charge.
