Amad Diallo has been granted time off by Manchester United following a family bereavement and will miss the trip to Brentford. He has featured in all six United games this season, starting five, operating as a number 10 or at right wing-back. Head coach Ruben Amorim said football was not important at this time and affirmed the club’s support. Amad faced social media criticism after interacting with former team-mate Alejandro Garnacho, who left Old Trafford amid acrimony, and subsequently deleted his posts. Amorim urged players to shut down social media and stressed the team can and will try to win with or without him.
