Khadija Shaw signed a new four-year contract with Manchester City, extending her stay until 2030. The Jamaica forward had appeared close to leaving the Women’s Super League champions after renewal discussions broke down and she was linked with Chelsea as a free agent. Shaw finished as the WSL’s top scorer for a third consecutive season, scoring 21 goals in 22 games as City won the title for the first time since 2016. She announced the deal at City’s end-of-season celebrations and received the player of the season trophy. She has scored 26 goals and provided seven assists in 31 appearances this season, and since joining City in 2021 has 117 goals in 137 matches. City now face Brighton in the Women’s FA Cup final while pursuing a domestic double.
