During the Cork City Marathon, a participant unfortunately passed away after being attended to by emergency services at the scene. The full marathon started at 8:15 am in the city center, followed by the half marathon at 10:15 am. The event included a 10k race and required road closures across the city to accommodate the races. Cork City Council expressed deep sadness regarding the death and extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
