Nottingham Forest's preparation for the upcoming season has been deemed inadequate by manager Nuno Espirito Santo. The club aims to compete in the UEFA Europa League after finishing seventh in the Premier League. Santo expressed concerns about insufficient planning and squad readiness, stating they are "very far" from where they need to be. Despite retaining key player Morgan Gibbs-White, he highlighted problems with player loans and the need for better preparations as the transfer window progresses, while welcoming new signings from Brazil and Bologna.
Nuno stated, "We are very, very far from where we should be. We are very far in terms of preparation, in terms of planning, in terms of squad."
Nuno emphasized, "The plans that we had, [we] didn't get through. The preparation in terms of the squad was not ideal. We have players working here that know they're going to leave on loan. We have a major problem."
