MAN to present updates to the electric bus range at UITP Summit in Hamburg - Sustainable Bus
Briefly

The MAN Lion's City 10 E, showcased at the UITP Summit in Hamburg, features a new generation of batteries produced in Nuremberg, enhancing efficiency and passenger capacity. The 10.5-meter electric bus comes with two doors, advanced assistance systems, and four battery packs totaling 356 kWh, matching the capacity of many larger buses while being more maneuverable. With 27 seats and room for 54 standing passengers, its compact design is poised to improve urban transport logistics while achieving up to 96% recyclability of its components.
Hamburg is a special place for us, as this is where our eBus success story began at the end of 2019 with the first handover of two MAN Lion's City E buses. Today, over 2,500 of our eBuses are in operation throughout Europe.
The new batteries are more efficient, lighter and have a higher energy density and improved depth of discharge, allowing for fewer battery packs while maintaining or increasing range.
Despite its compact size, the 10.5-meter long eBus accommodates 27 seated and 54 standing passengers, paralleling the capacity of many 12-meter buses while being more maneuverable.
More than 96 percent of the new batteries can be recycled and are capable of covering up to 1 million kilometers over a service life of 14 years.
