Rico Lewis, a promising young player for Manchester City, highlighted how injuries to key teammates have impacted his performance this season. He recently contributed to City reaching the FA Cup final, making him the youngest scorer for the club at Wembley since 1981. Despite his numerous appearances, Lewis has often been deployed out of position due to the squad's disarray. He expressed a firm desire to play in midfield, emphasizing his enjoyment and potential impact in that role, even amidst the side's struggles.
"I think it's difficult. It's a bit unlucky at certain times of the season where you're playing in games where you've not got everyone on the team," Lewis said after Sunday's game.
"You've got some people injured so you can't play as normally as you would do. The whole team is discombobulated and stuff like that. It's part of football."
Although he started as a full-back, Rico Lewis expresses a desire to play in midfield, stating, 'I want to play there. I enjoy playing in there.'
