Leicester City has appointed Marti Cifuentes as their new manager to lead them back to the Championship. Cifuentes replaces Ruud van Nistelrooy, who departed after seven months. He signed a three-year contract following his exit from QPR. Leicester was relegated from the Premier League, finishing 18th with a 13-point gap to safety. Cifuentes expressed his honor in being named manager and looks forward to connecting with players and supporters. He previously finished 18th and 15th during his tenure at QPR, having a 34.6% win rate in the Championship.
Cifuentes took charge of QPR in October 2023 and led the club out of the relegation zone to an 18th-place finish that season, before guiding them to 15th in 2024-25.
This is a fantastic club with a proud history, and it's a privilege for me to be asked to help write the next chapter.
