Manchester City signed England defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace on a five-and-a-half-year contract for a reported fee of £20 million. The signing responds to a centre-back injury crisis. Guehi came close to joining Liverpool on a previous transfer deadline day. He is City's second January signing after the acquisition of Ghana winger Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for about £65 million.
